History of McIntyre Loam
In 1974, Thomas McIntyre purchased an 18-wheel dump trailer and
began making deliveries for various companies in the area. McIntyre
Trucking was a one man operation and was successful. Within a
couple of years, he hired other subcontracted truck owners to
help with his growing business.
In 1977, Toms father and his uncle were informed that part
of the property that their homes were on was being taken by eminent
domain for the purpose of construction Interstate 495. As a result
of the land split caused by the highway construction, there was
7 acres of land not being used. Tom purchased the land from his
dad and uncle and established McIntyre Loam, Inc in 1979.
Since then, McIntyre Loam has grown to 28 full time employees,
several pieces of large equipment and 6-Wheel, 10-Wheel and trailer
dump trucks used for hauling the many materials we sell. Thomas
McIntyre is still the President and active in the daily operation.
In September of 2003, McIntyre Loam opened another yard in Wrentham,
MA McIntyre Materials. It is currently a one-man operation,
but we hope it will grow as successfully as McIntyre Loam has.
